We had the chance to chat with\u00a0Manny Loveankh about his most recent release, Summer Girl (featuring Pupa Tee). Keep reading for more!<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I love how you manage to render your tracks so personal and organic. Does the melody come first, or do you focus on the beat the most?<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Answer: Thank you Andrea. It\u2019s a little bit of both to be honest. For some songs, the melody comes to me first and I just build the beat around it, while for others I might hear a beat that inspires a particular melody and just run with it. \u00a0<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Do you perform live? If so, do you feel more comfortable on a stage or within the walls of the recording studio?<\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Answer: I love performing live. There\u2019s no feeling like it. I love the frisson of excitement that comes with meeting new (potential) fans. It\u2019s like being on a date for the first time with the woman of your dreams and you don\u2019t know if she\u2019ll like you or not. It\u2019s nerve-racking but also positively intoxicating. I also love being in the studio and going through the creative process of making a song. That satisfying feeling of building something from scratch. I call it \u2018the kitchen\u2019 and am the chef who just loves cooking tracks. Whether in the studio or live on stage, am never out of my comfort zone when serving the fans. I guess you can say am both the chef and the waiter *laughs*.<\/p>\n
